At the same time. Physically I'm here but mentally I'm still in the States. I can remember reading the blogs of so many other people who had taken this journey and being so excited to come. Seems as though they were having a great time and the photos were the icing on the cake. However, my experience seems to be a bit different. I suppose it could be that I didn't have the same "adjustment" period that most did. See, I started months into the school year so I feel like I'm playing catch up with with everything. I didn't get the same down time to see the sites and relax.... I was thrown in, head first and boy am I feeling it.
I don't have tons of photos to post because I honestly have not been doing much outside of working and adjusting. I find that all day I am looking at what time it is back home and when I get home from work I try to connect with friends and family through the net to give my life the normalcy that I am missing. One thing I'm excited about is Spring Break in a couple of days! Now that should bring some great pics and posts....
But for now, I'm just here.... on the net, trying to stay connected.

Happy New Year & Moving right along.....
On this journey in a new place. Like I said before, my process was quick annnnnddd I've been very busy getting my paperwork and things in order. Can I just say that ummmm, you need a paper from your job for like ev-ver-ry-thing here! But anyway, don't want to fully go into that cause I'm still getting things done... I hope to have my UAE driver's license tomorrow so that I can finally rent a car. Cab'in it is gettin old real fast.Since my last post (which I realize was longer ago than I thought), I've been to the States and back. The one thing that sucks is trying to adjust to the time difference again. My jet lag was terrible when I went home for break. I've been back for about a week and I'm still not sleeping through the night or tired, when it's late. This is not helping my procrastination habit.....smh.
Hopefully things will continue to progress and I'll have some interesting stories to tell. Right now, not much has happened but I'll keep you posted.
Oh, and my allergies are kickin my butt *sad face*.

Getting Closer
Wow, I can't believe how quickly the weeks have passed. There's still so much for me to do when it comes to packing up my life. I have completed 98% of getting my documents done and for that I am happy. That's actually part of the reason I have not packed or purged things yet. I'm been too exhausted from days of running around and hitting the post office. Let's not even talk about the fees that I've had to pay for all this paperwork... let's just say I cannot wait to get a check. Everyone keeps asking me if I'm excited....and my answer is always yes, but I don't have time to "feel" excited since I have so much to do in such a small amount of time.

And So It Begins...
Well, it has been a week to the day that I applied for and have been offered an Art Teaching position in the UAE. The feelings I have right now are unexplainable. I'm extremely excited yet have so much to do in preparation for my departure which is less than a month away. I hope to keep the blog updated with my life abroad and how I intend to make my new apartment a home away from home.
Stay Tuned...
